Question: What is the best stress relieving techniques for rapid cycling bipolar disorder?

I find that taking baths w/ lavender and chamomile at night before bed work rather well, and having lavender plug in's around the house are great too. I'm seeing a psychiatrist and will be starting a new medication as of tuesday due to an allergic reaction to my past meds (abilify) but I'm just wondering if there is anything else out there to help with my mood swings in the mean time. This question I guess is for others out there w/ this disorder. What helps you relax and get through the days? Thanks!

You really are on the right track with the lavender and chamomile aromatherapy. Listen to music that makes you feel good, keep up with your friends and try to keep a social life. Exercise is very good for depression as it builds feel good brain chemicals called Endorphins. Even walking or taking a run will help. Try to get as much sunshine as you can as that also can help lift depression. Good for you for getting the help that you need! Good Luck to you and all the best that you deserve.

Meditation, journaling, prayer all help me. Doing things I enjoy help as well such as reading, going to the movies, calling a friend. Any distraction that you enjoy will help. I wish you the best of luck, God Bless.
