Question: I found this stress relieving technique called reiki?

I have been looking on the net and seem to be getting brief explanations on what it really is. Is anyone familiar with this. Is is based a a certain religion. What if your not a Christian?

It's a fantastic treatment, luckily a friend of mine is a reiki master, great sleep after the treatment.

I've had this once - the therapist didn't touch me at all and i admit i wondered whether he was just conning me as i didn't feel relaxed at all. i think i would choose a massage over reiki any time. however this man did pick up two emotional issues that had been bothering me for a long time, so maybe there's something in it. it is not religious, but maybe spiritual?
