First take a few breaths.Slowly inhale and exhale.Stop any thinking.make your mind blank. This will take some time to accomplish since we live in a hectic left brained world.Too much thinking can make you ill.Try this.Rotate your head in one direction and then in the opposite direction. You will feel your neck bones crack. This is pleasant and simple and relaxing.Find a quite place to avoid distraction.Create your own space especially for yourself.Pay attention to what other answerer's say.The more help you get the better.Peace

Listen to soft music and relax, sit down on your favorite chair and listen to your cool environment

> If I told you, the stormtroopers would report me. YOU might report me. ; Just the same, fix yourself a PBJ. That works for a lot of mental issues...And don't go light. Go heavy. .. ,,,

Visit a Rolfer (rolfing)!!! The first time I walked out of there I felt like I had just been born - my body was so relaxed. It is deep tissue massage and I swear by it!!!! Or go have a regular massage and spoil yourself!

This has worked for me and hundreds of others. Now to what I spoke of yesterday: The Exercise, Meditation or Prayer, how ever you wish to label it, is okay. Just Stop and Let Life get Easier!! When life's problems seem to close in on us from all sides and loneliness and depression come or we become agitated, miserable, doubtful and fearful. Don’t fret! there is a solution when these things crop up, immediately follow these simple instructions.....Say to yourself,( your name), Stop!! Let go and Let God Be God.( again what ever that is to you.) Take a deep, deep breath and let it out very slowly. Relaxing your neck, shoulders, arms, hands, stomach, legs and feet. You will instantly begin to fill with and softly say or think these words to yourself. I am filling with; Gratefulness Warmness Tenderness Kindness Gentleness Humbleness and Peacefulness. You will find that you experience not only a mental change but also a definite physical change, that begins to instantly change your outlook on the current situation. You can do this anytime anywhere. I have done it in traffic. Behind the slow lady in line at the store. I do this every night before I lay down to sleep. It Works. It really does. Please Try It... Remember, we have to quit playing God or it will kill us !!!! Mike O'C 1996

I agree about meditation and also massage. I don't know specifically if Rolfing will help, but anything is worth a try, right? Also accupuncture or accupressure. Also deep breathing techniques. Doing deep breathing really will induce the "relaxation response. " Dr. Andrew Weil writes about that; I wish I could tell you exactly how to do it (beyond the obvious), but if you read him or look him up (he has a website) I'm sure it's there. That one is really worth trying. Also there is Cognitive Behavior Therapy -- I do that and it helps a lot. Plain old talk therapy could help too. I hope this helps!
