Www.20minutestolessstress.com is a website that you can order stress relieving cds that are only 20minutes long. i listen to mine at night after the kids have gone to bed, it has worked tremendously for me. i would reccomend it over and over. it is expensive but well worth it

As you breath, say to yourself tension out, relaxation in. Sainsburies have a home brand herbal stress reduction pills I find work.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) - it's amazingly quick, and can be done virtually any time, any place. You can learn it from a practitioner or from a set of DVDs available from emofree.com (don't get them from ebay - they cost more than direct from Gary Craig, the originator of the technique!). There is a free downloadable instruction manual on the website but it's much easier to understand it from the DVDs - they're well worth buying!

Try deep breathing exersises. You can also try tensing all of your muscles in your body from your toes up to your face and then slowly relax them from your face to your toes!!

Inhale as slowly as you can, hold briefly then exhale slowly. Repeat half a dozen times, more if you wish and that should do the trick. I find this exercise particularly helpful when I have that kind of stress that I find myself taking shallow breaths and feeling a bit tight chested. It was prescribed by my GP and can be done anywhere at any time without attracting attention. It works for me.

Try and get enrolled in a Yoga or Tai Chi class where you will learn easy de-stressing techniques. You'll enjoy it and it'll definitely make you feel better.

Try doing some yoga. it is one of the best stress relievers ever! The reason is because it makes you concentrate only on whatever pose you are doing along with your breathing. So it will clear your mind for the time you are doing it. Go to iyogalife.com and check it out. there should be some routines you can do there. You don't need to do alot of it, just 30 mins or so and you should feel much better. You can do it at home and you don't need any equipment.

Stress relief works in one of two ways. Either distraction or altering the body's chemical balance. This is why exercise is good because it performs both functions. Stress is caused by trying to meet other people's expectations. These may even be expectations that we have been taught as a very small child. Therefore the best way to become "a bit more laid back " is to stop worrying about what others think of you/ your work/ your home/ your clothes etc. All the best
